Our story starts in 1955 when my father, Bill Schauer, then twenty-two, moved to Union Grove off the family farm in central Wisconsin. With five thousand dollars in his pocket, borrowed from his older brother, he succeeded in founding one of the top rated Surge Milking Machine dealerships in North America. Dairy farming, one of the most demanding occupations, created a strong work ethic. A work ethic that was passed on to me. In 1965, we added Fox Trac snowmobiles and eventually added Arctic Cat in 1970 and built a separate facility to house our power equipment business. In 1982, we added the Polaris product line. After growing up in this business, I bought out my parents in 1987. In 2003, the 3000 sq. ft. space in the adjacent building became available. I remodeled the entire building giving us our current 5000 sq. ft. main showroom. In 2003, I added Suzuki, and in 2007, the Yamaha Franchise was added to accompany the others. My family and I are very active in our church and community. I am still personally involved with all of the day-to-day operations. Some of my personal philosophies are conducting business with integrity, honesty, and great customer service. Our motto is treating people the way you would want to be treated. Through this very simple business practice, we have gained many lifetime customers. This is something that we are very proud of and wish to continue into the future.
